Tank Interior sealer - Opinions

With the cab almost ready, another project that I wanted to finish was painting the gas tank.

When I shook the tank around I could hear something but could never quite get at it. Took about 10 tries to shake the tank just right until the piece of metal stopped close by the sending unit hole so I could get it. It was a LARGE piece of melted solder from where they sealed the tank at the factory. Looks as bright as the day it melter, you can tells it deff. silber solder not the cheap crap they use today. It was about the size of a .50 cent piece, been in there for 51 years I guess.

I lightly sanded the outter surface and wiped it down with acetone, was able to put on a coat of Por-15. I bought a quart of tank sealant from one of the parts houses. Seems simple enough, just wondering is anyone has any experiance with it?

You might want to check out these links. The first comments begin on post #5, recommending POR-15 sealer:
