Smile New to the forums

Greetings all,

New to the forums here and thought I would say hello. I have spent thousands in actual cash and good will from my wife to build our Basher. We use it to bash trees, carry gravel, mulch, jet skis, and recalcitrant family members. Here is a video of it before I bought it from the previous owner and put new tires and wheels on it and swapped over to a 454 with a Vortech supercharger. It i not pretty, nor is it meant to be, but it has tons of function. I will try to post pictures of the 454 buildup when I can. I am getting ready to deploy overseas so I won't get to work on it for a year. I look forward to reading all of the crazy posts from you folks.

Re: New to the forums

Thanks for the warm welcome. There have been a ton of threads I have wanted to start or respond to but it took forever to get my account approved. I guess I must look suspicious

I just found a ton of rust in the firewall below the cowl and I'm now on the hunt for a decent cab to replace this one. The rust is so pervasive under the undercoating that I was actually able to push my thumbnail through the metal in one place. And that rust goes from side to side. Looks like the previous owner used to park under a pine tree and the needles fell inside the cowl and just rusted it out. I am pretty down about it, but everything else in the truck is solid. Looks like it time to start casing the local junk yards for a 4x4 auotmatic cab. I don't want transmission tunnel trouble.

The 454 is out of a 90 model 454SS. They were seriously weak-kneed 454s so I bought the blower for a little pick up. From the factory those 454SS engines only had 8.1 compression -perfect for some PSI to help it out.

I have had over two tons in the bed of that truck and it dumped it like a pro. Wish I had the Dana front end under it instead of the 10 bolt though.
