Smile My new Jeep!

I found this monster by dumb luck, and fell in love with it. For those who are wondering "What the h%^& is that?" - it is a Jeep Kaiser M715 1 1/4 ton military truck. I have been looking for something to put the Cummins 6BT and 5 speed that I acquired a while back into. The thing is a beast. Its got a Dana 70 rear, a Dana 60 frontend (it is a closed knuckle, undfortunately) with 5.87 gears and a NP-200 cast iron, gear driven transfer case. These came with an "Tornado" OHC 230 cu in inline six, and a T-98 4 speed. The engine is messed up, and they are pretty expensive to build, so the Cummins is looking like the way I'm going right now.

The truck is VERY solid, and has no rust through that I can find. I got another that has top, tailgate, hood mounted blackout drive light, rear bumperettes, and rear D rings to use on the white one. I have everything I need to make a nice truck. These things will hold 40" tires no lift, so I'm going to put a set of Deuce tires on it to retain the military look, but cancel out some of the crazy low gear ratio. I am probably going to lift it just a little too - maybe 3 or 4 inches at the most.

Re: My new Jeep!

Here a few pics of the parts truck. The body on this truck is actually very good too. It has a little rust in the rockers, but is very solid as well. When I'm done with what I need, I'll probably part it out because its got some nice stuff that I'm sure somebody could use.

Re: My new Jeep!

I'm going back with military look - green with white stars, US ARMY letters (I can read what mine originally were under the white paint). Here's a few restored ones. The last 2 have the Duece 20" rims that I plan on running.

Man, that is going to look sweet! I love old military vehicles. Is that your deuce and a half in the background?

No, I wish it was, though. I have a M1009 Blazer, a M880 Dodge, the M715 but I'm really wanting a deuce bobber!

Sounds like you have a pretty cool lineup of ex military vehicles! I would love to have a deuce but I don't know where I would park it . I really liked the deuce they built on Xtreme 4x4 except for the paint job they put on it. Can't wait to see the progress on the M715!

Thanks! I'm going to do the engine swap as soon as it warms up a little. Here's a few pics of the others. I picked up the M101A2 dump trailer from Warner Robins AFB today.

Re: My new Jeep!

I was just looking at a Kaiser to put on this beast of truck I might trade my buddy for. I was wondering what it'd look like with military 2.5ton axles and rims/tires and now I know lol Either the kaiser or maybe an older Willy's truck if I can get just the body cheap enough.

If ya don't mind me asking, how much did the Kaiser run you down there? I don't seen too many of them around. Most of my stuff I buy, I have to buy in the states just because the prices are so much cheaper compared to here.

Sweet project

Re: My new Jeep!

That is awesome! The fire company near me has an M715 that they use as a brush truck, it's beautiful in it's ugliness.
