Re: what do you use to clean/polish those wheels?

I haven't used it on my truck, but on my other cars I've been using Mother's Mag/Aluminum polish for years. It's a white paste sold in a little tin. It works crazy well, when it's used correctly. I bought a set of used wheels from a local for my Mazda a few years ago. They were his autocross wheels, so they were caked in grime and bits of melted rubber and crap. I used that Mothers stuff to make them look virtually new again.

Re: what do you use to clean/polish those wheels?

I'm a seeing-is-believing kind of guy. I was looking for something to clean up the aluminum wheels on my ride and ran across this. The wheels in the video appear to be in the similar condition to my wheels. If I can get similar results, I'll be pleased.

The Flitz products are more money than Mothers or my other personal favorite -- Meguires -- but it's only a few dollars but I think the results will be worth it.

Re: what do you use to clean/polish those wheels?

kelsfine69,

Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish could be thought of as a general-purpose polish for restoration and maintenance of cast aluminum and other polishable bare metals.

Mothers Billet Metal Polish is a finishing polish with consistently-sized fine compounds for quality cast, forged and billet. Your results may vary depending on the alloy. Polish as good as you can get with Mag & Aluminum Polish before trying the Billet Metal Polish, as it is a pricey product and it is not designed to remove major defects and scratches.

Though these videos are generally applicable to most all metal polishes including Mag & Aluminum, here are a couple videos that may be helpful:

• Polishing Metal by Hand:
• Polishing Metal with a Power Tool:
