1967 C/20 4x4 3 on the tree 292 project
Here there I was trying to figure out if taking out the 292 a 3 speed out of the 3/4 4x4 and putting in a 1990 350 5.7 and tranny out of a body beaten scottsdale. Will that swap even work. I plan on re-wiring the truck and a under bed fuel tank. I plan to make this a frame off restoration. and using this truck as a daily driver.

Yes,you can do that. You'll need all the wiring and ECM. The '90 had an electronic speedo so that will need to be dealt with.
Just a note...get used to calling your truck a K/20. That's what Chevy called the 3/4t 4wd.

Just FYI, I don't believe that's a 292 engine. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but I can't see the bypass hose that only 292s had. Likely it's a 250 that's been swapped in.

i could be wrong but it looks like you've got power steering? if so you could cover some of the cost of the swap(if u arnt keeping motor) as the power steering set ups for sixes are hard to come by and many people would love to get their hands on it.

Re: 1967 C/20 4x4 3 on the tree 292 project
Thanks for the Info guys. as far as the drive shafts, will i most likely have to get custom ones or will they be able to stay. as i hear that if a manual is changed to a auto in some cases it would have to swapped?

If your interested in starting a build thread there is a 4X4 projects and builds section. It looks like it would be a great build to follow.

Re: 1967 C/20 4x4 3 on the tree 292 project
It's hard to say on the driveshafts since that combo isn't from these trucks. It's not a big deal or real expensive if shafts do need altered.
How about posting some pictures here...http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=441713
