Talking whats am i missing

i was wondering what connect to the temperature thing that goes in the block and how do i hook it up the my gauge is there a connection i am missing

It should have a wire from that sending unit to your temp gauge. It looked like a slide on clip but you can get a replacement temp sending unit that has a newer spade terminal.
