Hood hinge color?

Should the hood hinges be black or the color of the truck?

Re: Hood hinge color?

I've come to the conclusion, by looking at the below picture of that 80 original mile truck that was on eBay a few months ago, that they were "natural" from the factory. Mine have been painted cast blast gray and they look pretty good. I'm sure some factories painted them black, but I like the "natural" look myself.

Re: Hood hinge color?

They were probably were phosphate coated originally. A flat cast iron gray would be close.

Drunk is right. When the coating wears off it would be natural so cast would be more "correct" but most paint them semi gloss black.

Re: Hood hinge color?

Here's one that has been painted "natural" - probably cast blast.
