Thumbs up A real Unicorn, Finally 71' Cheyenne Super SWB BB

This is not my Truck......But are you ready for this? This factory virtually untouched beauty belongs to a 80's plus woman, I've lived here in A town for 21 years and only seen it a hand full of times, mostly glimpses of a grey headed woman driving in our small town. About 5 years ago I discovered were she lived, not too far from me, her garage was always closed and I respected her privacy, until today, when I saw it at a mechanic shop, I couldn't resist and went crazy with the camera, so excitedly, saying to myself don't forget the SPID, but to my surprise, the SPID had been removed, but the pic's speak for themselves. Of course the rumor in town is, It's not for sale for any price according to her son, who will inherit it...... I wonder if he can be bought?

Re: A real Unicorn, Finally 71' Cheyenne Super SWB BB

I had a similar situation...when I was on my way to school one day...8th grade...saw a 57 Bel Air converitble in a driveway....never had seen it before...and never saw it again out of the garage...I contacted the elderly lady at the home...she said it was not for sale...it was her husbands...who had passed away..and now was her sons...I kept going back every now an again...and came up empty...after 20+ years...I finally gave up on it...that reminds me I should go by there...bet you it is still in the garage.......this truck reminds me of another truck I've seen...just can't place it....

Re: A real Unicorn, Finally 71' Cheyenne Super SWB BB

I've wanted an air cleaner like that for a long time, but they are worth more than I am willing to spend.
Thanks for taking the time for the pics.
I wonder how many people think it's been repainted since the wooden floor in the bed has been painted over. (that's how they were)

I wonder why all the carriage bolts have no paint on the heads?
The swb bed (with an original paint "wood bed" floor), that i use to own,... had everything painted.
Wood, strips, and bolt heads.

Think this truck has been freshened up at some point in it's 40 year life?

Your post made me look at it again, and that floor is NOT covered with paint, but a dark stain instead.
The bed at a minimum looks to have been freshened up.

Very good observation.

It looks to me like it has had some things done over its life. Perhaps just general upkeep since it gets driven... Very nice truck. I would guess that air cleaner is fairly rare. (chevelle maybe?)
