Re: Who has the best carpet?
Price and quality are inversely proportionate....
I just received the color sample swatches from Stock Interiors and am happy with the quality. Happy enough to purchase carpet for both Screamin' and 'Boo

Re: Who has the best carpet?
magwakeenercew2jh, did you get the mass backing? also are the edges of the carpet loose and free or do they have seam around the edges ?

Re: Who has the best carpet?
I'm interested in carpet from this place too, since I looked at it and they actually have carpet for my burb in the color I need (Aqua/Turquoise).
I'm curious about the "MAS backing" as well.

Re: Who has the best carpet?
Here's another closer shot. You can see the edges have a binding.
As for "MAS"? I guess that means the approximate 3/4 inch mat that looks like fuzzy fiber stuff that's glued to the underside. It came attached in specific areas that they know is appropriate. Maybe that's it..... I paid like $137.10 or something for the 80/20 pictured, delivered to the house. Maybe $139.54. High hump 80/20 loop; Charcoal.

Re: Who has the best carpet?
Oops! I just checked...No. I didn't order MAS backing for an extra $55.
I have sound deadner and like the "closer" feel of the carpet the way it sits. If anyone has used this MAS stuff, let me know so maybe next time I'd know it's worth the extra dough. But for now, this is the way I'm rolling.

Re: Who has the best carpet?
Looks good, but I still wish that someone would make a carpet that went that little further up the firewall....you can see in your last pic just left and right of the hump, it just looks unfinished.

Re: Who has the best carpet?
Right.
I get GOOD floor mats that color match. The two that are supposed to be used for the back seat of a car end up cut for the truck's kick panels, with the remainder of the material placed in a finished manner where the carpet ends on the firewall. What do you see if you are sitting in the truck, and what do you see when you are standing next to it or getting in? Somebody on the Forum said, when this topic came up before: "You just have to hope nobody's snoopin' around down there where they're not supposed to be", or something like that. And, to be fair, the place above where the carpet ends is supposed to be covered by that gross stock cardboard and fiber stuff that screws on and sheds. I've been known to paint the back of the sound deadner, too. But on this one, I'm using the floor mat system. And, oh yeah, I use good carpet floor mats over the carpet, too. I get mud on my feet. And I don't like it on the carpet. And I have a dog.

Re: Who has the best carpet?
I have a couple questions on this subject. What went underneath the factory carpet and how thick was it? How is the carpet attached to the floor? Like is it adhered or just held in place by seat brackets and such?
Does this carpet go behind the seat covering the tank: http://www.classicparts.com/1967-72-...ctinfo/39-156/

I have a Trim Parts carpet for my truck currently. It looks to be of high quality, although it does not have the Mass backing..but instead a thick Jute padding. I layed it out and mocked it up and I like it.

Re: Who has the best carpet?
I do not have a picture, but I have a Trim Parts gas tank carpet that I have mocked up, and it conforms to my tank perfectly. They originally attached with screws I believe.
