Wiper arms

Does anybody know if the wiper arms off an 88-98 fullsize will fit an 84 K20?
Or if the wiper arms off an 94-04 S10 will work?

I would like a set that can stand up when the truck is parked and its snowing, so they don't freeze to the windshield an break or break when trying to clean of the windshield. Plus I kind of prefer the way the blade attaches to the newer trucks.


I'd like to know if this will work before I buy the parts, because I'm not working right know and don't want to waste money on something if its not going to work.

I see people do this all the time and eventually what can and does happen is the arms invariably snap back down with the blade sometimes inverting so the arm slams into the windshield cracking it. I personally advise against it. Easier to suffer the inconvieniance of sliding an ice scraper under the blades to release them than it is to sheel out wallet sized pics of dead presidents in my opinion.

Really? I do this all the time with my S10, and use to do it with my old 97 Sierra, and they never once came down on the windshield. In fact my S10's wiperarms have been like that since the first snowfall two months ago, and let me check......... yup there still up. Everyone I know, that has wiperarms that do this, have them up and noone has had to replace the windshield because of this.
I realize there is a possibility, albeit a Remote one, but thats the reason I asked about the S10 one, is because of the design of the blades attachment point, they can't come down with the blade inverted. And after looking at my windshield or any windshield of 73-87 trucks, it's apparent that the stock wiper arms are more damaging then the ones off newer trucks, because the blades have a tendency to break off easily, especially in winter, causing the arm to scratch the glass.
I've gone through two sets of blades already because of ice freezing them to the windshield, and they aren't cheap up here (for some reason or other places charge at minimum 14.99 for one) I'm seeking a better solution.

I asked a similar thing a couple of weeks ago and yes ive heard the same thing you can get a windshield cracked if the wiper arm gets to slam into it.
