1969 GMC Custom Camper-- Evansville, IN Craiglist

I found a 1969 GMC Custom Camper for $4995.00 I think the guy might be confused on the engine because it is listed as a 300 engine and 405 transmission? http://evansville.craigslist.org/cto/2187317781.html Thought someone might be interested.

I saw this last night and I also noticed that the wheels don't look to be 8 lug,I thought all Custom Campers had 8 lugs.

There's something you rarely see. I had a '69 K/10 that was a Custom Camper/10. That may have been the only year for 1/2t.

That is interesting. Back when you could order what you want instead of buy what they have on the lot there was a lot of odd combinations. Maybe it was the beginning of what they used to call the "Heavy Half" They were like a mix between a 1/2 ton and a 3/4 ton if I remember correctly.

I would think the engine is a 305 of possibly a 350 and the trans. is a 400 but I am not sure about the GMC engines and thought maybe they made a 300.

This truck is about 2 and half hours away from me but the more I think about it, maybe I should check into it further. It looks like a nice truck for the money.

Year specific. There was a short lived 67 thru 69 1/2 10 series Custom Camper that had heavy duty springs. Smart move to discontinue this model by GM. To haul a camper safely, you really should have a truck with a full floating rear axle.
