I disk braked the front and did a 4/6 drop from ece. I mostly happy with the way the truck sits. ( it might need to go down in the front, just a tad) but my concern is the rear. I know i still need to trim the stops. But that still only leaves me with 2 1/8" of rear travel.

Is this normal for a 4/6 drop?

Welcome to the forums, very nice truck you have there, I am in the same problem you are right now with my drop. I went with a 5/6. to get more clearance Next is for a C-notch or a Step Notch.

If it hits you can c-notch it. You can get one from ECE and I think you can get bolt on so you won't have any welding. I had to c-notch mine and I still have a problem with the rear end hitting the bottom of the bed over a large bump, I have a 5/7 drop.

Thanks guys. So i looked at buying a C-notch, Ill just make one and weld it in. Seen any fabd notches out of 2x4 stock? whats the preferd method of making one?

I made mine out of 3" round stock and boxed in the frame. Sorry I forgot to welcome you to the site. So welcome, we need to get some more NW trucks on here.

I have not made one yet, But I was going to just use a 1/4" Thick 4" or 3" Round pipe and cut it in half and use that then box in the frame with 1/4" Steel plate to strengthen it up. Just make sure you have jackstands under your frame before cutting.

K, I like the .25 wall 4" pipe idea but then what do you do for bump stops? just relocate th existing ones?

You can do something like this and relocate them I am guessing

Nice truck! Make sure you reinforce the frame when you do the notch....especially if you ever plan to haul or tow...there is a thread about pipe notches here with good data/recommendations/ideas....

There are plenty of 4/6 drop trucks running around w/o notched frames. The rule is 5" max w/o notching. But,if you trim the stops,don't really haul,and take it easy when it counts you will be fine. Another alternative is to use a bags-in-place-of-coil setup for when you haul. I'm going to try avoiding nothing when my shortbed is done. I want to still use it as a truck so will end up bagging or notching. I'll decide when the time comes...hacking a good frame vs adding another mechanical device that can fail somewhere down the road. The price we pay for vanity.

I got my c-notch in, boxed the frame and used some 3/8 plate as a reinforcement. The wooden bed was all rotted out so it was perfect time to remove.. Now some finish grinding and paint.

5.5" in Front and 6" in the Rear.
No C notch, and I don't haul anything.
Drives fine.
