ECE Window Felt question...chrome beads?

While redoing my door panels and window regulators, I am replacing my inner and outer wipes/felts as well. Looking at ECE's site, they offer two for the 72, one for $29 and another for $39 listed as "w/ chrome beads." Can anyone enlighten me as to what exactly that means? Any pictures would be fantastic as well. Thanks guys!

For what it's worth, the felt set on LMC's site lists at $29, but there is no "chrome bead" option.

I believe that just means that they come with a strip of bright work along the entire length of the seal where it meets the door.....please correct me if i'm wrong someone.

The chrome bead is a staunless steel bead that runs along the top of the inner fuzzy only. They dress up the look of that area. They were not a stock option if you were wondering about that. WES

Both pieces actually have the chome bead, and yes it is actually stainless. The chrome bead on them makes them stiffer and not so flimsy when you are installing them. As you all know they are not the easiest part to install on fresh paint. Also note that they do need to be trimmed to fit and there is a left and right.

Re: ECE Window Felt question...chrome beads?

I don't have a picture of the chrome beaded seals but I did install some on my son's truck. They look nice but on the set I installed the rubber is too thick and it causes real issues with rolling the windows up and down. I had to trim the rubber just to get the windows where they could be rolled up and down as the thick rubber puts a lot of pressure on the glass.

Hideaway, small world. I drove over to Lindale yesterday. And I'm also waiting to finish my drop (front) and front end rebuild. Time to order some window felts, too!

Re: ECE Window Felt question...chrome beads?

I have them on my truck....definately spruce up the looks...if you don't have any other trim...I would go with the ones without...but if you have side mouldings...window trim...it definately goes together well...
