Talking New garage out back!!

Well I am running out of room with all of these trucks so it is time to have a detached garage built. I built this house with a 6 car garage attached thinking that would be just fine,,,,,but you know how things go, I am out of room!! Now I can make big messes out in the detached garage and not the ones in the house. I am so excited I had to post a pic, (just footings though!!) It will be a 24 x 30. Should be done in 2-3 weeks. I will post more pics as it progresses.

Yeah, and I have to live with a 20 x 20 so-called 2-car garage.

We're in the process of building a new house, and along with that I GET A NEW 24 X 50 SHOP.

But I'm with the rest, figure within 6 months being out of room.

Currently have a three car garage, full to the brim, including two harleys.

Three trucks and a car out front. Didn't dare mention that I was looking for more........

Joe, looks like you have plenty of yard for your new garage. If you would sell me your red 71 4x4 you would have an extra space .Seriously though you can never have enough garage space.

To those who have built these what kind of money will you spend if you have it built? with no bells and whistles a 24 x 30 metal building with no floor? Don't they do turn key packages pretty cheap?

My dad and I built our 30x40 for $1700 minus floor which we haven't done yet. We got used metal for the walls and new for the roof and we put sliding doors on it. We added this behind the old garage that lacked space height wise. We put too much lumber in it,but its danged strong. Better than any of the ones that the local contractors build by far. His buddy had one built in the fall and it blew over before he got to finish it out, it was a 24x30? and cost him $2800 plus the ground prep.

Stano, good to hear from Missouri boy. My wife's Grandparents live not far from you in Dent County near Salem. The one you built was it more of a pole barn set up rather than having footers?

cost

I had three contractors quote me prises for a 30 x40 turn key ready to use for, 30,000.00 - 36,000.00 and the third from an old friend of mine, 62,000.00 and as he said , I'll do it right . So another friend said to check out pole barns, and I did . I'll have one soon put up for 13,000.00 with two garage doors two windows and one man door it takes three days for them to installed all for free . I'll do the electric and water. I had another contractor remove tweenty nice size tree trunks added tweety one yards of back fill, six inches of crushed stone packed with a six inch slab poured 6,000.00. Cutting down the trees was only 250.00 , A friend with he sons removed the cut up wood ( over ten cords at least ) for free. Can't wait

Thanks for all of the comments, I know it wount be big enough but I had to have some yard! And the city has a square footage limitation. Heres a not so good pic of the basement 4 car garage.

Okay, I had to go measure my garage - it's a dinky 11' x 24'. I can barely fit my car in there, so it should be REAL FUN bringing in the truck!

Robby Yep its a pole barn setup. All 2x6's and poles, very few 2x4's at all. Thats what all the contractors use around here economy grade 2x4's. I get over to Salem now and then. Know a few people there through my dad.

I built my 34x40 including concrete slab and driveway for $15,000. Shopping around can save big bucks. It took me 5 years after getting my house to save up the $ to do it RIGHT, the way I wanted it. Just like the truck, it will never be finished!

I'll post some pics when stupid server is up...

Hey Joe LOOKS good!! I wish I made mine bigger already but I had NO room also. Joe still thinking on that one deal.
Robby, I had a guy build a 30x30 metal building for $5200. Doors $800, concrete $1500 no labor, insulation and finish walls approx. $1500 no labor, electric $400 no labor. $9400 without labor on alot of it but alot of beer. Its amazing how much beer can get drank. Randy
