72 blazer vs. suburban jack....differences?
i'm looking to pick up a 72 blazer k10 for some parts for my 72 burb c20 (rear seat especially) and curious to know if the jack and lug wrench were the same or different between the two body styles and chassis tonnages. my truck was missing all the parts except the spare tire itself, even the hanger to hold that big 16.5 wheel (son of original owner sold it to me......a real weirdo)
thankx!!! |

Re: 72 blazer vs. suburban jack....differences?
Far as I could tell, the jack looks and acts just like the PU, Blazer, and Suburban. Basically a really unsafe jack, though I wouldn't mind getting one to fill the space where it goes.
I just remember it couldn't lift the burb, and the handle was very soft steel so it twisted before it actually turned the jack to lift the burb.

Re: 72 blazer vs. suburban jack....differences?
so the 3/4 ton uses the same jack/tools also?
also, could you snap me a photo of the spare tire holder? i used the parts from my dad's 87 burb c10 to keep that big 16.5 wheel and tire from flopping all over the place. wish i had noticed these pieces were missing when i bought the truck two years ago. i really don't want to contact the seller at this late date. |

I don't own this, but it was offered to me by one of the members of this board.

Re: 72 blazer vs. suburban jack....differences?
the threaded rod/handle looks suspiciously like the one i am using that my dad's 84 and 87 burb used. but the flat plate is different from the curved, triangular 80's piece i'm using.
thanks! |

Re: 72 blazer vs. suburban jack....differences?
The lug wrench would have to be different, since the nuts would require a different socket size between a K10 (3/4" socket) and C20 (13/16" socket).
(speaking from 73-87 experience; unless 67-72 was different). K
