Can this be sleeved?
This is a 1966 396 i bought with a bunch of other big block stuff. I knew the block was bad but someone said it could be sleeved. There is no harm done to the outer block just number 1 cylinder wall. Anybody?

396 are too easy to get cheap, heck even a 454 isn't that hard to find. Just not worth the cost to sleeve, unless it is a number matching block to the truck and you are restoring it.

I concur the sleeve itself will cost more than another bare block that isnt rotted all to hell and broken

Machine shop said around $145 to sleeve. I don't know about were your from but how many complete stock 1966 396 engines do you see? It's like saving a truck or anything else. If I had a 66 chevelle or something I would be proud to have, just thought it would be worth it, might not be?
