Can anyone verify This Wood Bed Info for a 70 LBS
hey all, first i want to say thanks for all of your guys help, there is a wealth of knowledge here and i appreciate the fact that im able to have such knowledgable people to turn to for advice.
ANYWHO! im about to put in a new wood bed in a 70 chevy long bed step, and i have the following website with bed wod measurements. I have some nice mahogany, but before i start cutting things, i was wondering if anyone can verify first hand the measurements they provided for the 70 LBS. any help appreciated. thanks again guys! http://www.classicheartbeat.com/bed_wood.htm |

Heres this from another website..
A stepside bed has fenders attached outside the metal bed sides and a step extending from the rear fender to the back of the cab. Short Stepside: Length of bed wood 77 1/8". Inside width of bed 50”. I'd trust what Wes posted on his site. But,I understand your concern. Do you have your bed parts(all the metal)? It's just a matter of leaving a gap for the bolts in the cross pieces. Just measure bolt hole to bolt hole and take enough off each edge to allow for the bolt shank + a bit of play.
