New use for the empty slot in a tach cluster
This topic is now an FAQ- "67-72 New use for the empty slot in a tach cluster"
I had this indicator cluster made by NewVintageUSA.com - maybe I'm a little crazy, but I like to have the generator and oil dummy lights even with gauges (maybe because I've had multiple alternators fail on me and not show any signs...) Anyway, here's a few pics of the process and the outcome. Too bad the 4wd indicator switch is broken and always on... one more thing on the list. Cleaning the lettering off the lense Before and after - polished the lens to remove the faint scratch marks Hole cut in the tin to allow the cluster to sit between the tin and the lens, and modified back plate for wiring Final install, all indicators off (normal appearance) 4x4 light on all lights on and the overall effect I had some additional custom work done on my indicators, but they offer these indicator assemblies with 4 separate indicators, with whatever pictures or words you want, for about $150.

That is slick. Looks great! I have a trans temp gauge stuck in mine (until I restore the truck)
