Woodgrain

Ok last question for awhile. You guys have provided a ton of information. How much woodgrain would be on the interior of a 1970 CST? I see the strip on the top of the door panels. And the glove box was painted over so it would not have a decal on it. How about the dash. My original is gone and just the standard 3 gauge black is there now. Would it have been black or woodgrain?

Re: Woodgrain

None in a 70. Maybe the top of the door panel, but not positive on that one.

Re: Woodgrain

Yes, 70' CST's had the woodgrain on the door panels, but nowhere else in the interior. Trevor

Re: Woodgrain

I own one and have none inside mine. Door panels possibly replaced on mine?

Re: Woodgrain

The '70 CSTs have the exact same door panels as a '71 Cheyenne. A 69/70 CST has all the same woodgrain as 71/72 Cheyennes.

My dash is black with chrome trim. Shouldn't have anything on the glovebox except the CST badge.

Re: Woodgrain

Tim, just so you're clear. The woodgrain that is the same as the 71/72 Cheyenne's are the exterior trim. Just so there isn't any confusion for anyone. The only interior woodgrain is the 70-71' woodgrain door panels in the 70' CST's. 69' CST's have their own vinyl door panels with no woodgrain. No woodgrain on glovebox unless Sierra Grande or Cheyenne Supers. Cheyenne's and Sierra's got the woodgrain dash bezel. Trevor

Re: Woodgrain

Got it! I have just the door panels and nowhere else inside! Yes I have the woodgrain lower exterior and tailgate moldings. Just wanted the lowdown on the interior. Thanks a bunch.

Re: Woodgrain

Thanks Trevor. I first typed 70 was the same as 71/72 woodgrain, then added 69. I guess I was focused on the outside at that point. '69 has it's own door panels, which has no woodgrain.
71/72 Cheyennes and Sierras don't have woodgrain instrument clusters, just like 69/70 CSTs. Only Cheyenne Supers ans Sierra Grandes have woodgrain glovebox doors and the instrument clusters.

Re: Woodgrain

I have 2 70 CST's, my one truck have woodgrain on the top of the door, that truck was made in July 1970. My other CST was made in January 1970 and has not woodgrain on the down, in fact it came with 1969 CST door panel.

Re: Woodgrain

That's interesting. January isn't really all that early in the model year, either.
