shifter question....
I have a 66 BBW LWB, with a three speed on the floor, and I am going to put a Turbo 350 in it, and I dont know what type of shifter I need and/or want. I really dont want to spend the $200 on one new, but I have searched and cant find anything else. By the way, I want to keep the column thats in it, so thats not an option....Thanx!!!

Re: shifter question....
If you want to keep the shifter in the floor with a TH350 here is a good choice for a truck:
Lokar Automatic Transmission Shifter Neutral safety switch Positive lock-out in park and neutral 360° lever rotation for extra long leg room Teflon-lined button in shifter knobs for smooth operation Chrome-plated lever available in 6, 8, 10 or 12-inch lengths Gold iridated bracketry All hardware included for installation, boots sold separately. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...+GM+TH-350+Kit On the other hand I do like The Hurst Pro-Matic 2 ratchet action shifter thats in my dads amc rambler american. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...omatic+shifter

Re: shifter question....
not to hijack but that nash needs some outrigger stabalizers!!
if you check in delmos build, he used a cable, and then hooked it to the e/brake handle for a shifter- that might be an option

Re: shifter question....
B&M makes the Megashifter in a truck version. It is a little taller so you don't have to reach so far.

Re: shifter question....
This is an excellent choice IMO. I just installed one in my rat rod truck. Easy straight forward installation. Neutral safety switch and reverse light micro switches included. You can adjust the height of the shifter to fit your personal preferences. The ratchet mechanism is a bonus if your performance minded in the least. Plus once you install the supplied cover it has a clean appearance. I would have no problem using this shifter again. Well worth the money.

Re: shifter question....
My dad used to have one, it was turquoise and white, I had to drive it sometimes and boy was that embarrasing.........the 3 speed on the column was wierd and it had a Austin Healy 4 cyclinder in it. it was cheap to drive back in the day.......

Re: shifter question....
I've always preferred the Gennie Shifter. It operates exactly like a column shifter mounted on the floor.

Re: shifter question....
Thanks for that input, I was not aware. There's a 12 page thread on Jalopyjournal regarding the topic. I didn't know about the poor management practices, but was always disappointed with their sales distribution. Lokar can be purchased everywhere, not so with Gennie making it difficult to shop for best price. It's a real shame, they made the best automatic shifter I've ever owned. The one in my 46 worked perfectly for over 300,000 miles and the one in my truck had about 100k miles on it and was in perfect operating condition when I switched back to a manual 4 speed. I wish I had kept it now.

Re: shifter question....
It is sad, I really like the way my Gennie works. I'm going to put a 700r4 in and it won't work on it. If I use mine I would lose 1st gear. Thats why I;m looking at the one from B&M. I would change out the T-handle to a Knob.I'll put my 350 turbo in my 53 and use my Gennie in it.
