I know I'm not the only one..Special K, Tow Guys, anybody...even vintage pics. I need some references before I start on this re-build.
Any input would help. Reno

Re: Lets see pics of your wreckers, slant backs and tow units...you knew this was com
Check out my build thread in my sig. It needs some updating but we've come pretty far in only 2 months. I've been keeping my eyes out for a hauler like yours around these parts as I think it would be awesome to have one to go with the tow truck

I am surprised I have not saved more of these pictures from past posts of other people on here, but here are a couple I have saved.
I am sure others will post more pictures.

Re: Lets see pics of your wreckers, slant backs and tow units...you knew this was com
Thanks, this is the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Seems to me that this breed might be the rarest of the 67-72's produced. I'm trying to decide if this is worth throwing a bunch of $ at, I think it is but would like more input from those who know much, much more than I do about it.
Brad

Re: Lets see pics of your wreckers, slant backs and tow units...you knew this was com
That is a great story and a beautiful truck...I think I've got "THE SICKNESS"
I fooled with Mad Max last night until I ran out of daylight and still couldn't bring myself to go to the house, so I pulled a chair out of the shop and sat there in the dark drinking a beer and stared at it for another hour or so. Man...this thing is just so cool!

Re: Lets see pics of your wreckers, slant backs and tow units...you knew this was com
Hey Brad,
I have one very similar to yours. It was an old McLaren race car hauler that I flew to LA and drove back. I am not able to post pictures, but I will be happy to send you some from my phone if you would like to post them on your thread. I will be happy to give you any info you would like about it. They are very special trucks. Take care, Mike

Damn, I really would love to have one of those ramp back haulers. The ultimate for going and picking up project cars!
Just found this one on ebay...sweet! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-...item19c3854b42

Wow, those pictures are wicked cool. Mine is a '68 C30. It has open fenders in the rear, really nice aluminum stowaway ramps, spare 80 gallon fuel tank. It was owed by a well known Can Am racer named Doug Peterson. I have the complete history of it around here somewhere. I will send some pics of it to your phone.

RenoKeene, Great 67! That is a cool truck.
hotrodmtodd, would love to see your pic's too. Bruce (McLaren), Denny Hulme, and Chris Amon really took on the world back in the day. Duallie, your truck definitely counts! Haven't seen you round for ages. I have pictures of your cab sitting on the dolly outside your shop from nearly ten years ago. You still working oilfield trash? As you were.
