K&N Problems
I have just added a K&N Filter and a chrome air cleaner assembly (used) and I pluged the vacume connection. I still hear a sucking noise.... what could this be?
There is also a hole in the bottom of the assembly off to the side. What is this for? It is probably 1 in. across. For now I guess its back to the stock.

Thats air going throu the filter. Both of mine if you listen you can hear that sound.
Is it really bad?

Yep, technical name is "Induction Roar", basically what you get with every good free flowing filter or if you run an angine without a filter. It's just the air being sucked through the filter and into the carb, sounds great don't it! Think of it as your engine breathing LOL.
The hole in the filter assembly (my 9" K&N has a short pipe stub sticking out underneath I believe is for attaching your crankcase breather if you want to. I just blocked mine off with a nice shiny stainless nut bolt and two washers. You can't see it unless you look hard as it's at the back. If you don't use it you should block it off as dirty air will get sucked through the hole bypassing the filter (not good if there are a lot of flies near you, they block carb jets well!

Try covering different areas with your hand to see if the noise stops.

It isn't real bad and I listened to another guys today and he had the same sound. So I guess I am just not used to hearing it. It seems to be more apparent going slow uphill on the gravel..... whenever the engine gets pulled down.
As for the hole I cut a piece of sheet metal and screwed it onto it and used some sealer that is for high temps around the edges.
