question, 1969 and 1970 burb...
I have a 1970 3/4 ton 4X4 burb. I see a nice 1969 on here for sale. My question is, would the swap of my 1970 3/4 ton 4X4 running gear to a 69 1/2 ton 2X4 be straight forward? everything just bolt right on? Just wondering. Thanks

I haven't done it so I am really just guessing but I don't see why not. There was just a discussion the other day indicating that the 10 and 20 series frames were the same. Lots and lots of rivets to remove on both chassis - crossmembers, spring hangers,shock mounts if different, etc. High hump needed if not already in the 2wd. Don't see why it couldn't be done. Good luck and keep us posted if you do it.

I am not sure if I understand your question completely.
Are you saying that want to swap bodies, and keep the 4x4 chassis? Is the 2x4 chassis a coil sprung rear? Have you done a simple check of vendor catalogs, to compare body mount kits between a 2x4 and a 4x4? (Checking to see if the number of mounts are the same between the 2x4 and 4x4) I am leaning to the side of it shouldn't be a problem, but like you - I'd want to do a lot of research first. Maybe work with the seller of the 2x4 on measuring the mounts, so that you can compare to your 4x4 chassis.

Thanks for all the input! I was thinking about unbolting the body and re attaching it to the 3/4 ton frame. Prolly to much work/time.
