In love with C-10s

Hi guys,

A long while back I posted a thread about a truck I saw and fell in love with. I've never forgotten about it.. Now that I have done my first tour in Afghanistan I'm finally in a financial place to consider buying one.

Here is my original thread;

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard//...d.php?t=292864

What I want to do is to figure out what I want to look for in a truck (I know I want a 1969-72 Chevy side step pickup) something similar to the one in the pics. I've been looking through classifieds at trucks and don't know enough to figure out whats a good deal or a lemon..
I'd appreciate if you guys could point me in the right direction to some learning resources (yes I can google but I figured you guys would have the inside track) or give some pointers/advice.

Thanks!

Re: In love with C-10s

I bought a 1971 Cheyenne 1/2 ton fully loaded it dose not have Tack,Tilt,or buckets,it dose have the factory rear slider paid only 650.00 for it 3 years ago.I've redone the Ac ducting and vents put in a brand new 4 core Radiator and shroud and new fan clutch,engine wire harness factory re-pop from M&H wire harness new starter and hoses and alternator intake and carb 600 and change the dash pad and outer gauge cluster chrome and black and New AC control unit with new cables and relays Now the truck is worth 5000.00 for that little of work here in Calif these trucks are going up in Value just like that 1971 Nova its a mock up with a 396 400 with shifter on the floor Fully powered and loaded with AC power steering disc I even found the AC box for the 1969 Nova that has the brand new AC condenser and heater core in it sitting in a bag inside car even has bucket seats was selling it for 4500.00 but with all the parts that you don't have to go find to make this a big block car and a fully loaded car might be worth more it was a 350 with a Th 350 Tran's car the 396 is out of a 1968 truck so is the 400 trans even have the the kick down for the 400 trans that will go with the car
