I was thinking of getting a donut spare to use for my truck. I thought it might fit behind the passenger seat since I've taken the gas tank out of the cab. I know a lot of poeple don't like donut spares but it would be nice to have one inside where it won't get stolen.

What newer cars or trucks come with the 5 x 5 bolt pattern that would fit our trucks?

the astro van is probably the only one with a space saver and 5 on 5

My dad's '91 Caprice has a compact spare & it's 5 on 5 as well.

Some years ago I found a nice 6 lug donut that fit my 68 GMC and 69 Chevy. I figured if I ever took the tank out from behind the seat of one of them that's what I would do. Haven't done it yet but it does look like it will fit.

btw: I did try it out on one of my wheels and didn't look too far out of whack with the other tires. For a short jaunt it would work fine.

I got a new one at the junk yard and also took the box with the cable and crank. I am going to mount the box and then weld brackets for the tire suck suck up against underneath the truck and then use the old hole from the PO air shocks to insert the rod and lower the tire when needed. I also picked up a like-new scissor jack and folding lug wrench the new Chevys come with that slides right under the seat. This is one improvements with the new Chevys I love.

I have a '66 w/ 6 lug and disc front trying to find a suitable donut...

Have no idea. It was free and I brought it home to see if it would fit the truck-which it did. At one time I thought it came out of an 80's Toyota truck but not sure. There's no markings or numbers on the rim.
