Carb Rebuild Kit: Accelerator Plunger Not the Same

Ordered a rebuild kit from my Rochester B carb for my 235 and I got the plunger on the right. One on the left is the one that is in the carb.

Parts diagrams show the one on the right, which wont work with the lever in the carb.

Ideas?

Re: Carb Rebuild Kit: Accelerator Plunger Not the Same

the deal on the right is what looks familiar to me. The deal on the left is probably a refugee from some carb rebuilding plant. find a parts carb? I had a couple of those but haven't seen them in years, probably not since I moved in 93.

Anybody else got something you could send him?

I've got my old one but it was taken off in 85 and I'm sure the leathery part is pretty dried up. My old kits don't have them either because its the part that always failed first. If you need the metal parts let me know and I can mail them to you.

Can you take a photo of the parts sheet from a little farther out? My carb has a diaphram at the bottom on the cup type plunger. The parts you need look about the same. look at this and let me know.

Is that a Rochester single barrel model B?

Mine does not have that baffle underneith.

Here is a picture from online that is the same as the one in the rebuild kit:

Just a idea but call Meade Battery (its a mom and pops parts store) here in Abilene Kansas. Ask for Mike Lehman. Explain to him what carb you have and what you need if it can be found or gotten he either has it or can get it and get it quickly. The number is 785-263-1241
