Talking I think I nailed it...

First off, I am sooo happy right now...last week, I rebuilt the front end of my truck and finished up the install of the djm 3" spindles, and djm flip kit...I also cut a coil off the front springs...well, I lowered it down on the ground and the rear was sitting on the bumpstops, but the truck looked good...I was hoping when I took the bumpstops out that it wouldn't lower it too much...

last night I took the bumpstops out of the rear and the rear end lowered down what seemed to be alot...so, I looked up under the truck and noticed that someone had pulled a leaf out of the leaf spring pack...I have another set of leaf springs that have the extra leaf in them, figured I'd just swap them out...

tonight my neighbor and I were out in the shop looking at the truck and he said the famous last words...just bring the front down to make it look even...soooo, I cut the front springs another 3/4 of a coil and it is PERFECT...

Re: I think I nailed it...

Truck looks good CHuck!

Not sure about 81+ inner fenders, but with that much front drop, expect a lot of rubbing. It also might not handle too well and be a PITA to align properly with that much cut coil. There will be a lot of shims in there...lol.

Re: I think I nailed it...

I thought about that Jeff, but what's strange is that I didn't take any shims out of the top or add any, but the truck doesn't look like it has any negative camber at all...and I also thought about the inner fenders...I have two batteries because of the diesel so that should be interesting lol...

thanks for the compliments guys...I can't tell you how happy I am...I ordered the drop spindles and flip kit I think before Thanksgiving last year...

and just for fyi I cut 1 3/4 coils off the factory springs, 3" drop spindles, flip kit in the rear and one leaf pulled out of the pack before anyone asks...

also, the truck is 34" to the body line in the rear and 32 I think in the front...it might be 31 in the front...if someone really wants to know I can measure it tomorrow or something...

I agree, that's perfect! Any thoughts on bagging at least the front when you swap the DMAX in it?

Re: I think I nailed it...

thanks for all the nice compliments guys...like I said I am so happy...

I'm actually not going to swap out the 6.2 for a duramax...the 6.2 runs soooo good now I don't really wanna mess with it...I do have a 6.5 turbo setup I can put on it though if I get frisky...well as frisky as a slow turbo 6.2 can be lol...

that's cool. Nothing wrong with a na or turbo'd 6.2.

You may have to do something about relocating your dual batterys. My suburban isn't as low in the front as you are and I rub BAD on my inners. I plan on removing them once I get it out of storage. Mine has one coil cut and 2.5 spindles, sitting on stock 235/75R15 tires. Just FYI....

Yeah, I think I'm gonna buy a battery box to go on the frame under the cab where the passenger fuel tank would be...

Re: I think I nailed it...

Looks PERFECT... mine is pretty low in the front as well... you should be fine. If you have the factory jack still installed on the inner fender, you shuld remove those bolts for sure... the heads will catch on your tires when it does happen to rub.

Well, that might be awhile...lol...the truck went onto the lift for the tranny swap and you see that instead of swapping the tranny, it got lowered and the front end got rebuilt...

Re: I think I nailed it...

thanks Anthony...I'm took notes from your drop thread lol...I'm gonna take all the bolts out, get the tranny swapped and get an alignment...and then I'm gonna see what it's gonna take...I really don't want to have to move the batteries and I'll have to if I get rid of the inner fenders...
