1987 wheel dimension choices somebody help me make my mind up.

ok I have a 87 SWB that i am bringing back to life. right now it is sitting stock and I would like to do a 2/4 drop with spindles and shackels. I know I am going with torque thrust II and want 20 inch for the rear but dont know about the front. I am torn between 18 and 20's for the front. Can anybody offer thier opinion and/or post pics of trucks with this style of drop? i just dont know that an 18 will fill the wheel well all the way and worry that a 20 may be too much wheel for the front. and also I dont know which width to go with as well. I was thinking 8.5 for the front and 9.5 for the rear. thank all for any help you can offer!

I'd definitely do 18's in the front. 20's might be too large IMO. I agree with the widths you posted, just make sure the backspacing is OK and you should be all right.

Let's see if I can help you out a bit.
Mine has been lowered app. 3" in the back with shackles and I guess 3" in the front with torched springs, (soon to be replaced by drop springs and 2 1/2" drop spindles).

I took the "ghetto" 22" chrome wheels off, and installed a set of 9,5 x 18 Coys with grey centers (5.5 backspace).
Front tires are 255/50R18, rears are 295/50R18.
I used a 1.25" wheel adapter/spacer in the back

Need to paint my drum brakes black...

thank yall for the help. erik that truck looks sick. I am going with a jet black myself but my truck looks like it is very similar to yours. did you use the spacers in the rear to help the wheel set a little further out, or did you need them just to make them fit properly?

I didn't need to use spacers for the wheels to fit properly.
But the track width is smaller in the rear so I used the 1 1/2" spacers to bring the wheels out closer to the side of the truck.
To me it looks tougher that way
