1965 c-10 spindles and rotors
Hey just curious I bought a 65 c-10 and I'm looking to upgrade to disc brakes and was told I could switch to a spindle from a 71-72 chevy truck. I guess I need help. Is there any spindle, rotor, master cylinder and calipers I can swap out and not break the bank. thanks

Re: 1965 c-10 spindles and rotors
73-87 has both 1' rotors that r 5 lug and they have hd 1 1/4' rotors that r for converting to 6 lug! i bought the the 6 lug rotors and then bought 2 1/2' hd drop spindles for them! its up to you if you want the 6 lugs or the 5 lug! i think i paid 300-320 for the rotors, calipers, brake pads, bearing, hoses then another 250 for the spindles! if your trying to keep it cheap make sure you measure the rotors of the donor truck! i all must made that mistake!! like captainfab said you can just ask! i'm learning alot just reading all the threads and pictures do help alot, lol!! on a side note captainfab has power brake booster brackets and and power steering brackets! wish i'd know all these before i bought my '70 frame could have saved me some money but anyways lets see some pics, please!!

The '73-'87 C10's or C20's did not cone with 6 lug rotors from the factory. The factory 6 lug front rotors didn't start until '88 on the light duty 2500's. You have to use the '88-'98 spindles with those rotors.

Re: 1965 c-10 spindles and rotors
well your right but your wrong the 1973--87 did have a 6 lug rotor but only on K series the 4X4 cus the ralleys wheels that most guys use on there 1960--70 trucks come off the 1973--85 4X4 trucks But if your changing front ends use the 1967--72 A arms cus of the screw in bushing the 1973--87 have pressed in bushings Not what your looking for
Best deal for you Buy a stock front end of a 1971-72 truck and use all the stock parts until you can save up enough money to get the 6 lug rotors and the drop spindles make the truck work on disc brakes first and then start changing to what you really want |

Re: 1965 c-10 spindles and rotors
Ummm, I thought we also could use the 88-98 spindles and rotors which would give us 6 lug compatibility. Is this true or?

Re: 1965 c-10 spindles and rotors
If you read my post again I said "'73-'87 C10's or C20's" Neither the hubs or rotors from a K series truck will work on the front of a C series truck, which is what the OP was inquiring about.
Also the control arms from the '73-'87 C10's will bolt right up to the '63-'70 C10 suspension crossmembers. Quote:
