Question need a 1bbl carb for 250 I6

Where is the best place to find a stock replacement carb for a 250 I6, auto choke?

I think (know) we need a rebuild but the phillips head screws that hold the two halfs together must have locktite on them because they are not budging!

I'm afraid to put heat on them until we have a scource for another in case this one is damaged...any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mr Arbuckle, heres a trick we use at work for stuck panels. Put a small dab of valve grinding compound on the tip of your screw driver and tap it into the philips head screw (just tap it lightly with a small hammer or another tool thats handy). Keeping downward pressure and not pulling driver off the head of the screw loosen it. The compound gives additional bite to keep the driver from spinning out and rounding the screw head. Just remeber to keep the pressure on the head of the screw after tapping the driver into the screw.

An impact screw driver may also work. I use to use one a lot when I rode dirt bikes.

We've already tried and impact driver and hit it hard enough that it should have broken so we stopped...LOL
I thought about cutting a straight slot in the head to get a flat blade on it but still think we should have something here in case it's trashed...

thanks everyone

Lowe's and Sears both carry screw extractors, these may work.

Can you just grind the little heads off then once you have the halves apart get a vice grip on them to twist off??? Thats what I would try...maybe with a dremel with a grinding disk.

Ive got some parts carbs if you need any parts for it. There were several different typs of chokes used on these through the years & the manifolds have to match. The best one is to find a carb with elactric choke. They work slick & will work on any manifold.
