Re: Newbie to 1966 Shortbeds
Welcome to the site. first you`ll need to focus on what you want, if your looking for more top end, you`ll need to change the rear axle gears, or whole rear axle itself. Most of these trucks came with 373 or 411 gears in the rear, with a six and a four speed they never had any so to speak top end even when new, but with a gear change will change that, then maybe a 5 speed from a camaro or early s10 will up the anti a little more.

Re: Newbie to 1966 Shortbeds
Hey Thanks! Yea I was talking to a friend yesterday and I an honda do the gears with posi. Next I think a better carb headers and the lifters springs. I was thinking of just a rebuild cuz she smokes some and then while its out go for the disc brakes in the front. What you think?
