Re: Dallas- Need truck looked at
I can probably have a look unless the wheels fall off something at work overnight.
Got any details like a zip and what kind of truck, etc.? Last edited by 72lb4x4; 04-05-2011 at 12:29 AM. |

Re: Dallas- Need truck looked at
I mapped it and he's right down the road 25 miles so I can shoot over and look at it easy.
I tossed the camera in the truck with a notebook so I can write stuff down. I'll call him in the AM. |

Re: Dallas- Need truck looked at
I'm back...
The truck overall is pretty good, but has a number of problems. He said he's owned it for 6 months, has an offer for $5000, and plans to sell it today to someone. Don't plan to drive it very far due to the brakes... Texas title signed by the previous owner. VIN matches the title. Some rust in rockers, but not that much. At least the driver's side has had the rockers replaced. The driver side can probably be fixed. The right side inner rocker needs replaced. Cab corners are a bit bent but not much rust. Floors and cab supports looked good. Trim holes mudded up. Evidence of mud in various places (not surprising). I didn't see any rust in the roof or gutter area. Doors looked good on the bottom. No rust. Tires are almost into the wear markers. 5 lug disk front 6 lug rear w/ trailing arms Registration and inspection are current. Gas tank is under the bed and a hole chopped in the bed floor for a filler. Lots of brushed on paint in the cab and under the hood. Starts and runs good but the engine sounds a bit odd. Some top end noise. Shifter is a sloppy aftermarket floor mount. Trans shifts well. PS doesn't work. I almost took out the mailbox with no PS and a tiny steering wheel PS pump isn't lined up right so the pully is angles a lot. Strangely, all the pullies looked wobbly as the engine ran. Disk brakes in front. Manual brakes. The MC looked like it hadn't been changed with the disk conversion. Brakes don't work much. They feel like maybe the fronts aren't working at all, and the rears are not working well. No noise from the rear end. Battery is relocated to the bed in a box. Lots of rubber fuel line. I took a bunch of pics. Let me see if they're too big to post. The bottom line is I like the truck. I said this at the top, but that may be forgotten after reading the list of faults... Pics are in the 350k-450k range and I'm limited to 100k. I can mail them. Resizing 50 pics won't be fun so at least for now, no pics in the post.
