Bed Rail Covers Caps
I did some looking around and didn't find anything... I just took the top off the Blazer and where the door meets the bed side, it looks incomplete. I was wondering if anyone ever made (or mass produced) some kind of cover the matched the height of the door. Something that could be bolted on from the bottom like a double wall top. It would have to include a piece for the tailgate as well to match the profile.

Re: Bed Rail Covers Caps
Nothing ever made that I've seen but some shave/cut down the doors to match the bed rails when it matters that much to em.

Re: Bed Rail Covers Caps
If you add it to the bedrails, you'll nee to add it to the tailgate too or you'll have the same visual problem there.
I thought there was someone who was making bedrails that are tapered (angle down from the door height to the bed height over the distance of the side rail.) He made/was going to make them removable so he could still use the top, but I don't remember who that was...

Re: Bed Rail Covers Caps
Do you want it made of metal or....? I would assume any decent upholstery shop could use maybe a red vinyl or leather and make what you want. It's basically a long skinny door panel to an upholsterer.

Re: Bed Rail Covers Caps
not upholstered... First choice would be metal, next would be something like Delrin, last thought would be wood wrapped in fiberglass and painted...

Re: Bed Rail Covers Caps
why the aversion to upholstered rails?
Actually fiberglass might give you the best result. Last edited by SeventyOne; 04-07-2011 at 07:09 PM. |

PS: the red truck I used for the photo chop is not mine. I just borrowed it from Pirate 4x because it was a good clean pic from the side... Last edited by mcmlxix; 04-07-2011 at 08:43 PM. |

Re: Bed Rail Covers Caps
I see. Well if you are looking to spend the coin try a body/resto shop. Probably going to be expensive to craft them out of metal though.
