Help ! 5" Brothers drop springs??
Hello , I need to pick the boards brain again.
I recently did a 3.5/5 drop on my 69 stepside. 2.5 drop spindles and 1" springs in front with 5" Brothers drop springs and shocks out back. My issue is that the back still looks high to me?? Does anyone have height dimensions or rung #'s for the springs. Should i just let it settle?Could i have done something wrong? thanks for any input

Re: Help ! 5" Brothers drop springs??
it looks like you installed them correctly. They might need to settle. Have you tried exercising them? THey might be held up by the shocks. Shock don't really don't perform well at that angle. You may want to consider shock relocaters

Re: Help ! 5" Brothers drop springs??
I haven't exercised them, does that mean heavy weight or bouncing up and down ?

Re: Help ! 5" Brothers drop springs??
I don't know man, that's not going to settle much, the springs look tight to the frame top and bottom. It's very possible they sent the wrong springs...
I have 4" springs and 1.5" block and am way lower, even just the 4" spring was lower.

measure from the wheel well arch to the center of the axle, this info might help figure out if the springs are the correct ro not. Contact brother and see if they can give you ride height info based on their 5" springs.

I had the same drop on my truck from brothers and mine looked about the same. I dont think they are 5" and those shocks are junk to.

Re: Help ! 5" Brothers drop springs??
I lowered mine with 3 in front & 5 in rear with springs. I dont remember who I got the springs from but mine sits the same way. I just put in 2" blocks in the rear & am going to put in 2 1/2" dropped spindles.
I would say everything is right. make a block & get new u bolts & you'll be ok or add a little weight to the bed to bring it down a bit. they usually ride better with a bit of weight in the bed anyhow...

Re: Help ! 5" Brothers drop springs??
just an idea maybe because you didnt put shock relocaters and its holding things up higher then it should. they could be struggling to work correctly just a thought.

Re: Help ! 5" Brothers drop springs??
Try flipping them over. I had one upside down and one side sat about 1.5 inches higher than the other. May be worth a shot. Just fyi - mine is a 5 inch drop.

Re: Help ! 5" Brothers drop springs??
I don't think they sent you 5" drop coils. It is not going to settle much more than where it sits now. Looks like you have about a 3" drop out back to me.
