Headers that Fit...

I am having trouble finding headers that fit my 69 longbed small block. I have a 350 in it now but I am not sure if it came with a 6 or 8 cylinder. I have looked at friends trucks and they all look the same as mine and they all have V8 in them.

I would like to find a set of 1" 3/4 primary tubes. If anyone can help me I would appriecate it, I am brand new to the site so any advice or comments would be welcome.

Thanks Gary

Re: Headers that Fit...

Where are they hitting? The shift linkage? We've got 1 5/8" Hooker Competition headers in ours and it just hits the tube if it is in 1st, however before the heads were decked we didn't have any issues.

Welcome to the site.

Re: Headers that Fit...

Hedmann Hedders in my 1972 GMC with a 350 SBC... I had to "modify" (read: small dent) one spot where they were a little close to the frame on the passenger side. Other than that... they fit just fine.

Re: Headers that Fit...

I have a B & M floor shifter so all I have to miss is the frame but I was hoping somebody could tell me a part number for an 1 3/4 primary tube header that would just fit, or am I being too hopeful.

Thanks, Gary
