1972 Gas Tank Sending Unit
I've got an opportunity to purchase an NOS sending unit, number 6429115. However the parts book lists two. They also list a 6429117. Can anyone tell me the difference and what each is for?
We have a 1972 C10 with 350 and automatic and air. Thanks Last edited by makamer; 04-16-2011 at 12:43 PM. Reason: Clarity |

Re: 1972 Sending Unit
One is probably 3/8" and the other is 5/16".

You didn't mention if you have a truck or sub., w/ V-8 or inline 6. But here's the ones for the truck V-8's: '68 series 10-30 Cab w/ 327, 396 and '69 all w/ 2bc 350 6428081 '69-'71 series 10-30 Cab w/4bc 350, 396, 400 6428361 Note: I think this one is the single pick-up 3/8" line Hope this helps. Re: 1972 Sending Unit
If the truck came from the factory with a 307 2 barrel carb they had the same sending unit as the 6 Cylinder up to year 69. That was the smaller fuel supply line 5/16 size I think. A simple brass fitting adapter fixes that. The older versions also have a small nut with an eyelet on the unit and the others had a simple push on elbow on the stem with no threads.
