drag shocks on my c10

So I took my c10 for a cruise on Sunday, probably went a total of 20-30 miles didn't really notice anything different or out of the ordinary and parked it that night. Then noticed on Monday when I got home a big spot underneath the truck. didn't have time to look at it, so yesterday I crawled under it and figured out this was my problem:




I don't really remember hitting any pot holes or doing anything stupid, I launched a couple times but still nothing out of the ordinary, but regardless somehow i sheered my shock off its mount.

So this brings me to the question. Its a competition engineering moroso 90-10 3 way shock. Do I continue to run these shocks or is there something better that's worth looking into? and do i replace both shocks or just he one i broke?

Well, if you plan on Drag Racing a lot then yes replace them with the same thing...

if mostly street then do something like KYB Gas adjusts or better

Looks like it was too short of a shock for your needs. I had a 71 camaro that did the same thing until I put limiters on it. What setting was it on 90/10?

just like brake pads replace both at the same time (fronts with fronts that is) - unless you put them on fairly recently

not enough power to do a wheel stand :/ haha

But the were on the truck when i bought the roller 3 years ago. It is mainly street use but, it only gets driven once a week at most and I really do need the front end to pop to transfer the extra weight to hook. But i will probably go ahead n replace both of them, but anyone know of a better shock for around the same money or should I keep this style set up?

and yes they are set at 90-10

One mean as pothole. The sway bar links were blown up as well, flew right off the bar.
