Cab Mounts???
Hey guys, So I need to buy some new cab mounts. I have a 77 frame and a 87/88 square cab. The mounts come in two variations 73-80 and 81-87 Im not sure what the differences are and which set I should get. Any input would help.
Thanks |

Re: Cab Mounts???
If I am not wrong the cabs where all the same mounting style, just the frame ears differ.
I would say get the mount for the frame specific year. Someone else want to chime in |

Re: Cab Mounts???
I need to replace the all the rubber mounts on my 68, do you know if changing them out requires a lot of work? I am hoping I only have to loosen the bolts, take them out and replace them one at a time. I dont have space to take the hole cab off; any ideas?

Re: Cab Mounts???
Were there more bushings or something. The kits I have been looking at have like 10 more pieces on the newer model ones not sure why, I guess there may be more mounting points on the 81+ models??? Or maybe it is because the kits are for the cab and the bed.
As for the ease of replacing them, My truck is just a frame right now but I am pretty sure you can change them all out without removing everything. |

Re: Cab Mounts???
Hello,
As said above, go with the 73-80 mounts. The newer frames have the rear cab mounting closer to the top of the frame, so the bushings themselves are shorter. Not sure if you're considering poly or not, but I have a brand new set of Energy Suspension poly mounts. Decided to use an '84 frame, so I can't use these bushings. Note, this is not a for sale post, just throwing that out there . PM if interested... Hope this helps, Joe Posted via Mobile Device |
