2002 GMC ABS problem..need help

My ABS light just came on breaks seem to work fine but when I got home and turned off the truck I could hear what I thought was a electric motor running. I crawled under the truck found what looks like a pump for the ABS system and it was running and will not turn off. I unpluged it to make it quit. Does anyone know why its doing this...

The internal ABS pump motor relay is stuck closed (ON). This is a common problem. Replace the EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module).

Call the dealer and get the part number. Then go online and get it. www.gmpartsdirect.com or maybe you can find it on evilbay.

Another option is www.car-part.com Try to find one that comes with a warranty.

EBCM's for these trucks are crazy expensive. Check out Module Master... You have to pull out the unit and send it to them but it only takes a few weeks to get it back.

http://www.modulemaster.com/en/index.php

They rebuilt an EBCM for a friend of mine and it works perfectly for a fraction of the cost (Total cost including shipping was about $175).

Thanks for the info. This is a allot cheaper than buying a new one. I have checked out there web site and it looks pretty painless on getting it done. They also guarantee it for 5 years.
