61 GMC Dana 44 Rear End Question

I have a Dana 44 rear end out of a 61 GMC that has some wear in the pinion yoke, only in the area where the u-joint bolts in, like it was run with the u-joint straps loose and wallowed the saddles out a little. My question is, are the pinion yokes the same on all Dana 44's? Ive found alot of 4x4 sites that list the yoke for Jeeps and fords with the Dana 44 but cant find anywhere that lists a yoke specifically for the 61 GMC. Any help would be appreciated.

It's been awhile since I worked on one but I wonder if a chevy 1310 yoke is the same. If you can't find one at parts place by cross reference try a junk yard or pull & save take your old one with you to match up the splines and shaft size. Allot of parts places may or may not have a listing for it anyway. Jeeps, Broncos, Scouts were some that used the 44's good luck with your search....Vernski

As far as I know the D44 yoke splines and diameter are the same. I don't know for sure if they all accept the same series u-joint.

Thanks for the help, im gonna pull it off and check with a couple of the 4x4 shops in town tomorrow. I also need to locate a pinion seal and axle seals for it, but its usually pretty tough to find parts here locally for anything thats not fairly new. Im hoping most of what i need will cross over to a later model truck.

I found one at dennysdriveshaft.com if anyone else is looking for one. Its the 26 spline that uses a 1310 u-joint. It was 39.95. Got a new pinion seal and ubolts to go with it, altogether less than $60 shipped.
