wonderful day NOT!!!
well at 11am this mourning i was setting at my desk chair. and heard the awful racket of a car wreck. so i ran outside to see what car got hit. because its happend before to us. and infact it happend just last august both our trucks got it. and when i got outside i noticed it was mine that took the hit this time. my 01 z71 got the hell knocked out of it by a drunk driver. it took the rearend and shoved it into the gas tank. busted the gas tank and there is some. rear bumper and driverside rear bed damage. ive got some pics the driveshaft is bent and the rearend housing has a crack in it. come to find out the driver was drunk very drunk. he is going ot jail they took him to the hospital first. they tried loading him in the cop car but he fel down in the street. and wet his self and all that they said. they were going to take him to the hospital first then jail.
this is the second time this one has been hit. every vehicle ive had has been hit there along with my grand fathers. and he has had one totaled here are my photos but im guessing it is totaled

Re: wonderful day NOT!!!
ima kinda worried if there is any damage done to the transfer case or anything. it was moved a few feet and also the transmission. beein it was moved forcefully while in park

Re: wonderful day NOT!!!
It's not the moving while parked that would concern me, but the possibility that the driveshaft was shoved into the transfer case that would be a real concern. If they don't total it make sure you get all of that checked out before you have body work done.

Re: wonderful day NOT!!!
well the drunks insurance totaled my truck so. they said the value is $8,100 but he said they have to pay me. tax and title fees and unused inspectin and tag fees. i owe 3500 on the 01 so that will come out of whats given to me. im guessing i will have right around 5k to used towards another one. the SS silvy i was lookin at was too much 44k miles. and 22k price so thats out of my range i know for sure. i guess i will be lookin around for another z71. with a 5.3 in it i like that little motor
right now im looking at a blue 03 z71 ext cab so we will see what happens
