1970 C10 LWB to SWB conversion questions

Well sadly i have not been here at the forum in a while and even ore upsetting is the fact that I have been so busy that i have not had time to work on my truck. I have read a few of the forums about Longbed to Shortbed conversion but the ones that I have seen invole cutting the frame and all that stuff. I am not ashamed to say that those instructions seem too intimidating to me, couldnt I just buy a short bed frame along with bed and quarter panels? I think after that all I would need to do is buy a shorter drive shaft right?? would i still need to remount the engine and transmission in a different place or is the only difference between the two of them the frame and drive shaft(apart from how long the brake lines will probably be)?
