Re: WTB 1" impact

Geeze Jeff, last time I had to deal with something like that I hired a big-rig tow truck to come on-site and do it for me.

IIRC it was cheaper than the 1" driver + socket needed.

Good luck on your quest.

thanx for the bump!!

I like to do alot myself if you have seen my build and noticed that already...lol..

I want it to do tire rotations the 11x24.5's cost me 300 each times 8 and the fronts 425x22.5 are over 800??? so I like to rotate them every oil change about 12000 miles so it will pay for its self....but I agree a newone is like 600

Re: WTB 1" impact

You may want to try some of the city government auctions. I buy from them all the time. I have only been burnt once or twice out of say a hundred times. I've bought vehicles, tools, heavy industrial equipment, barber shop, medical, auto shop equipment etc. many cities and states are contracting work out these days and getting rid of departments. I bought a $3700 machine for$60.00 from the Federal Government. Works like a champ. It was A federal marshalls sale on confiscated equipment. Also a two post lift for under $400.00 . I bought a $4700 air compressor from the city of Pearland texas for $280.00 they were just upgrading to a larger shop and sold it off. I used it for 5 years or so and sold it for $1100.
Just a thought

Yes! VERY good idea for those of us addicted to industrial grade equipment.
Looks like a grand time to shop for that vertical mill I've lusted after for decades!

Great. Just great.

Now I see there's a $200 Bridgeport
auction in Oklahoma with 10 days to go.

This is worse than eBay!

Re: WTB 1" impact

If you got your tires from a big chain sometimes they will give you free rotations, I know my old shop did that. Its a small job if you have the manpower and tools available. Large job otherwise! Have you inquired with the "I bought $2000 worth of tires, rotate them for free!" yet?

Good luck finding a gun though, I wish I could help, only have the small ones. Also, I recommend getting a large torque wrench as well, you don't want those puppies rolling off. Torque to 450 ft*lbs

Re: WTB 1" impact

I got my dad this one for Christmas in 05. It has been used on a 2500 acre farm with 2 18 wheelers and 3 tandem straight trucks not to mention other equipment ever since. No complaints besides having to wait for the compressor to catch up. Oh and a 1/2" air line is nice, 3/8" will do it though.
