What's This Connector?
I had my gauge cluster out today and noticed this wiring connector behind it that had nothing plugged into it. It looks like something was plugged into it at some time in its life, but I don't know what its for. It has 2 terminals in it, 1 wire going into the right terminal, and 2 wires going into the left terminal...Can anyone identify what its for? Or what's supposed to go there?

Re: What's This Connector?
Nobodys ever noticed this connector hanging behind their gauge cluster? I'm sure everyone elses trucks actually have something plugged in there so its less obvious...lol

Re: What's This Connector?
I've never seen that. I could give you a guess and say horn relay but I don't think thats correct. Do the wires go into the rest of the harness or did somebody add it on.

Re: What's This Connector?
Its not horn relay because I had to replace that so it is present. The wires go right into the factory harness that is all taped up, so it doesn't look like anything that was added on.

Re: What's This Connector?
If you can get a wiring diagram for your truck and look for those wire colors you might track it down. From the newer looking tape on the end it looks like it might be an add on. I would guess aftermarket stereo or ignition lock or remote keyless entry. I had a Viper keyless installed on my truck and the connector looks like that (somewhat). If you don't have keyless entry I would check it out - I am spoiled and would not be without it now.

Re: What's This Connector?
Looks like it might be for the warning buzzer.

Re: What's This Connector?
Never thought about that, but now that you mention it the warning buzzer has not worked since I've had the truck. But I'm ok with that

Re: What's This Connector?
which would explain why it is missing. I recall when they first started putting warning buzzers in everything people were so annoyed by them they unplugged them and threw them out.
Outside of that, we'll have to wait until Keith sees this, he will know.
