Front Suspension
I am changing my 70' Sub from drum brakes to disk. I have a complete front end from a 75' with disk brakes. The upper and lower A arms have rubber bushings. I would like to replace them before I install it. Will I have to have a shop do this or can I do it myself? Also will I have to change my power booster, master cylinder, and proportioning valve to a 75 model year.

yes, you need to change MC and prop valve.
should be able to keep bosster as long as it bolts up ok. a-arm bushing can be done at home, can be annoying because normally they are pressed in. some people burn them out and use a c clamp to install new ones using large socket/hammer routine. if you want quick and clean install, get someone to press them in. high school shop classes are great for this because it's easy job and you can get it free or very very cheap. good luck! |
