Re: wont start
Need more info....has it been run recently and this is a new problem, or has it been sitting? What kind of carb is it? Could be fuel pump, easiest way to check that is to disconnect the fuel line at the carb...if you get fuel coming out there then your pump could be ok. If you pump the gas pedal and you don't hear it squirting in the carb, then could be a plugged fuel filter, a stuck float in your carb, or a bad accelerator pump. If you aren't getting fuel to the carb, could be pump, or clogged sock at the tank end of the line.

Re: wont start
Very possibly the fuel filter in the front of the carburetor.

Re: wont start
If it's a 76 truck and it's stock then as mentioned above disconnect the fuel line from the carb, stick it into a 2 litre bottle. Turn the engine over and see if the pump is putting out any gas. (After making sure there is gas in the tank, of course).

Re: wont start
If you put a clear fuel filter on it, it will help you diagnose if fuel is getting to the carb. Like was mentioned earlier, take your fuel line from the tank off your pump. Put that fuel line into a small 1 gallon gas can or something that will hold a little fuel (so the fuel line is still on the pump, just not coming from the tank anymore). Turn the engine over in your truck (either from inside or by jumping the starter, it doesn't matter). You'll see if fuel is getting to the carb with the clear filter. If it's not, then your pump is bad. If it is, then there's something wrong with the fuel lines coming from your tank.
If fuel IS getting to the carb, then take the hard line off that feeds the carb and clean out the mesh filter that's in there. See if that helps any.
