Talking New guy from Calgary, Canada

Hey all, I have been reading around the forum and there seems to be a lot of friendly helpful folk here, So it was time to register. I am in the process of moving all of my stuff into my first home. *perk* comes with a garage, so I went out and picked up a project. A 1968 Chev C10 Custom sans motor and tranny.
will most likely go with a 350, since thats my comfort engine.

I'm hoping to gather any and all info on the 68 C10 and learn of any major issues that the 68 had.

Thanks
Papa-J

Cruise over to the regions section and check out the Canada section. Lots of guys in Alberta. If you need info on parts sources ask around on there. I know a guy up Red Deer way who has lots of motors, trannies and body parts. I guess they got snow sw of edmontonchuck. Looks good on them. LOL!!!

Re: New guy from Calgary, Canada

That's awesome, I will be needing a motor and tranny for sure, but it will have to wait for me to build up some more funds.
off to the regions section I go.

thanks

Thumbs up Re: New guy from Calgary, Canada

the only things that scare me a bit is the driver side rock, floor and body mount brace, the passenger mount brace and that huge bomb that chev put right behind the bench seat. Other then that this should be an pretty ok project.
Ask and you shall receive. (sorry the quality is not the best, the wife lost our good camera|).

Scary Floor!!

More Scary Floor!

And the reason they can keep the motor - Valve clip broke and it fell into the running engine...ouch

Re: New guy from Calgary, Canada

Me thinks you gotta rethink your project. GMC front sheet metal!! Not c10.
That rocker isn't too bad. I've seen worse.
Nothing wrong with that motor if you're building a F****RD!! LOL!!!
Thanks for the pics.

Re: New guy from Calgary, Canada

I couldn't agree more, it sure does have GMC all over the front, but it has C10 and custom logos on the fenders a Chev tailgate and the most important piece.

Does anyone know how to figure out the VIN#'s?? i haven't found a crack for 67 and newer trucks

Just slide over to the 67-72 section and ask away. Start a new thread and you'll get a response from the vin guru's.
