The answer for those of you with Air Ride
First let me say, Damn this board is sweet!!!! I have been looking for a 67-72 forum forever. I have a '72 blazer and suburban both on Air Ride. The blazer is straight nascar, but it has a ways to go. I will try to get some pics of it on here soon.
On to my next topic. Those of you that have Air Ride will want to check out this site, http://accuaircontrolsystems.com We have developed the coolest air ride control system ever. It gives you the ability to save any of your three favorite ride heights and re-obtain them at the touch of a button. We sensors that directly measures the height of the vehicle, NOT PRESSURE. So you can add weight to the truck, and the system will bring it to the correct height when you hit the button. We also offer a key-fob remote that triggers your three positions and the "all down" button from a distance. Unfortunately, the systems are expensive to build due to the quality, but we hope to be able to drop the price as our volume increases. One thing is for sure, once you use our system you will never go back to 4 rocker switches and guages. If any of you are interested, let us know that you found us through this forum and we will give you a discount. |

Where in cali are you? Have you ever had that system at a good guys show in pleasanton? On a 2wd blazer? If so that was a sweet setup. I played with it for a bit. And I have thought looking into the system a while back, but didnt know the name of the company.
Welcome to the board.

I have installed 2 of these systems and I will do the same system in my burban. This kit is the next step in air ride. You can wire the system to lift on start, which is cool. No use for gauges anymore with this kit.

I saw this in the new issue of Classic Trucks. Fantastic idea. I may have gone bags had this been on the market awhile back.

IMO a sawzal works better for the rivets. Cut off as much of the top as you can then grind. An air chizel just makes you go deaf. Unless your smart and wear ear protection, but that takes all the fun out of it.
How much of a discount are you talking on the system? Do you finance?

ART has one of these now... and for $2k you get a little more than just the ECU. I'm still looking to see if you can buy the ECU separately.

Be good shoppers
Just wanted to further educate the interested. Make sure that you are comparing apples with apples, instead of apples and oranges in this case:
1.) Although the AccuAir system offers preset heights, it also still offers manual control. The Intelliride system does not do so. Once you install that system you have zero manual control. Only a rocker switch that allows you to toggle through your 3 positions, (one at a time I might add). 2.) To save positions with the AccuAir system you simply get the vehicle your favorite height manually, then hold the button that you want to save to, (like a stereo preset). In contrast, with the Intelliride system where you must plug in a programming harness, then lift each corner with 4 jacks to the desired height, (because there are no manual controls). I don't know how many of you have four jacks, but I don't. 3.) The AccuAir system for $1,999 comes with a keychain remote that operates up to 150 ft away. The intelliride system does not. Remember that the basic package that does what the intelliride system does is actually $1,499. 4.) The AccuAir system allows you to use any solenoids you want, slow or fast. The Intelliride system requires the use of their super slow valves. 5.) Talk to someone who has installed both of the systems. The AccuAir sytem is simple and has two years of development and 1 year of use earning only happy customers. Download the installation manual for the intelliride system and find 30 pages of complexities. Notice the last two pages filled with trouble shooting techniques. The AccuAir Owner's Manual doesn't have those pages, because they are un needed. There is a customer out there for both of these sytems. But, good shoppers, or people that get a chance to operate both systems will choose AccuAir. For the questions above: Yes, the suburban is ours, yes, the blazer at Pleasanton was ours and we are located on the Central Coast of California. Discounts: They will vary for the type of system and the case at hand. But, give us a call to work something out. |

I'm going to give them a call & see what kind of discount they're thinking about. I've seen the ART set-up & wondered what the diff between the 2 systems were & now it seems I have my answer.
The only question of concern . . ... if needed Tony will replace a faulty valve a year or 2 down the road (I believe XXL went through this), so that's pretty decent PR/customer service in my book. I wonder what AccuAir is like (or will be like) to deal with if you have a prob down the road?

Accu Air customer service is top notch! They came to my shop to program one of there systems that I installed. The Accu Air System is the only way to go. The price might be steep but is well worth it.

Why did they have to come to your shop to program the system?

I wanted them to customize the lift on start command. The car weighed so much up front that I had them program the front to lift 3-5 seconds sooner then the back did. Works great! My customer loved it. My customer and myself are sold on the Accu Air System.

Package purchase
Lets talk package purchase. This is the best way to save money on the AccuAir System. It costs less for us to build as our volume increases, so we can afford to pass that savings on to you. Two system purchases in the past have usually been discounted by 12-15 %. Three to four systems, as much as 20-22%. And it doesn't matter what level of system you purchase. For instance, the Basic Two way package for $1,999 would qualify as a system towards the discounts. You guys may be interested in the Basic Package. Its cheaper and allows you to lay out your control panel however you want, instead of using ours. The main advantage to using the AccuAir Control Panel is that it wires in on a single RJ-11 phone cord because it communicates with in code to the ECU. The Basic system requires 16 wires going to the control panel. FastBagged68 may have some words of advice on this because he has done it both ways.

I only really need one preset setting which would be "ride height". Can this be done with just the four sensors and the ECU along with my existing switches?
