Well, after searching and searching, I finally found what I was looking for. Got me a '64 SWB Stepper and brought her home last night (because I don't have enough projects).
Anyway, quite a bit of stuff to do to her, but very excited about the possibilities.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! Here are the specs and plans for my new toy:

1964 SWB Stepside
350 cubic inch Chevy small block
Edelbrock 4bbl carb
TH350 Automatic Transmission
Firestone 235/70/15's on classic Quick Trick knockoffs painted black (which was painted over red)
Rattle can blue paint on everything except the roof, the grille, the headlight bezels and the wheels which are all flat black.

Okay, first the good: I drove it home last night and it handled better than I expected. It had good acceleration and I had no issues taking on the freeway.

Now the bad: It was running a little warm by the time I got home, which was somewhat expected. The PO said he thought it might be the new heads he put on when he rebuilt the motor recently and that he was going to put the original heads back on, but ran out of time. So, he gave me the original ones which he had cleaned up and painted, so all I have to do is swap them out. He was also running it with a flex fan and no shroud. I'm thinking this might also cause it to run a little warm. It has a brand new water pump so that shouldn't be it. It was also 93 degrees yesterday so that didn't help.

It also has a pretty bad oil leak and the best I can tell it looks like it's coming from the oil pan, so I'm going to pick up a new gasket tomorrow and see if that stops it.

The headlights don't work, but the taillights do. The PO said he recently re-wired everything, so I'm gonna trace it out and see if I can find the problem.

The seat is not bolted in because it's not the original seat and the mounting bracket is broken. So, I'll hit the junk yard this weekend to see if I can scrounge one up.

Then, once I bolt the seatbelts in it will be operational and I can start working on the cosmetics.

The plan:

Run some 275/60/15 radial TA's on Crager Rally's or Wheel Vintique Rallye's. I'm going to see how they look and how much clearance I have before I decide on whether to drop her. If I do drop her, it will only be a couple of inches. We'll see ...

Sand down the rattle can paint and smooth out some of the filler the PO used on some dents. It's a Colorado truck and had very little rust. The PS floor had a small section cut out and patched and I may need to replace the DS rocker. Other than that the cab corners look good and the fenders are in great shape. Once I get it sanded, I plan to shoot a coat of black primer and ultimately paint with some Blitz Black. I'm going to paint the grille and headlight bezels white until I can afford to buy some chrome reaplacements.

As for the interior, it needs lot of work. The PO installed all new after market gauges and they all work, so it will have to wait for a while.

I know there's more, but that should keep me busy for a while.

Hey javadoc, the guy I bought it from lives in Northglenn. It was painted red until recently so maybe there's another one running around town!
