Rear diff ID
I looked everywhere and can't seem to find much out about my rear end. It has 14 bolts. It's in a 72 BB TH400 3/4 ton pickup. Any help would be great.

Also, it's a full floater. Is there any way to tell what the gear ratio is from the numbers in the pictures or do I have to do the old lift one tire and spin trick?

It looks like a corporate 14 bolt to me. I don't know when they started using but I know1973 - 1987 3/4 and 1 tons had them.

It would have come with a Dana60 with 3.54:1 ratio. That looks like a 14-bolt from what I can see,which would have been swapped-in at some point. The Dana 60s have a drain plug in the lower right of the cover,doesn't dip in the bottom center as much,and has a more defined raised flat area at the ring gear.

Don't know if your rearend has the markings that mine does...and it is just a 12-bolt....but here's the markings that were on the top of the right axle tube.
Only saying this in case yours also has stamped markings.
